Pond Cypress, Taxodium ascendens, Florida

I'm not working on one myself. I know that Guy Guidry does these.

Ah, now, after reading more closely I understand more-better, I think.

I have a few Juniperus occidentalis (Western juniper) and they're doing quite well. I know of others in the Bay Area, and Dallas, and NW Arkansas.

Cephalanthus occidentalis - Buttonbush. e Zones5-10

Note: That is buttonBUSH, NOT buttonwood. Leaves are slowly getting smaller. I hope it will bloom next year!

Thanks for the information and it's nice to see someone actually using Buttonbush. Make sure and take a picture if it does flower, that would be nice to see. What growing zone do you actually live in? I'll add it to the list when I know your specific zone and it will appear on the next update.

Thanks! becasue of the way we code localities I'll add both 7e and 8e today. Once we get our digital image gallery set up I'd love to add your pic to the reference library section so we can have some readily avaliable examples for others to see.

Going through the list again, I have another that isn't there: Lyonia lucida, fetterbush lyonia 7e and 8e. This was dug from a swamp on my farm when we lived in Tallahassee, FL. Been in a bonsai pot since 2001. Lovely bark and flowers.
