Trees from the tropics which do not tolerate frost, ficus, schefflera, acacia, buttonwood...

olea europaea

Hi All

I have an orchard type European olive tree that is about 2" in height with a nice trunk developing on it. I got it as a sapling. I would like to slip it into a smaller pot but there are many warnings (and many past experiences) that accurately describe this trees adversity to root pruning. The best I could find was not to go more than a 30% root prune but would like more specifics.

My goal is a shohin that resembles an orchard specimen.

Any suggestions are welcome.
