F. Salicifolia Stump Answer

I went with a slab forest for the Ficus Salicifolia I mention in a previous thread. I even created the slab I used.

Here is the article I wrote for the GNOBS web site:
http://gnobs.org/articles/ficus_slab/index.shtml

It's rather lengthy and image heavy. At the bottom of the article, you'll find links to 3D photos of the planting.

I'm a bit rushed in publishing the article, so please give me feedback on any errors you find.

Here's what the tree/slab looks like:

I had a tall, spindly salicifolia that I despaired of finding a style for, though I did like the nebari. Finally, I decided to just chop it off completely and if it lived, it lived, if it died, no serious loss. There were no branches on the middle or lower part of the tree, so the stump had no leaves initially. The tree responded to the trunk chop by going absolutely nuts with new growth, and I finally found a style by turning the tree into a penjing-inspired tree. Before and after pics.
