Fall is comming get ready to show us your COLORS

I just love the fall and all the color on the maples! Here's a trident that I've been working on for a number of years that will finally go into a bonsai container next spring. There's just something about that yellow, orange, red and green that makes my brain go WOW at this time of the year. Hope you enjoy the color as much as I do.

Your tridents are coming along nicely. Especially with the grove, do you use wire or do you rely entirely on clip-and-grow?

On the grove it's been done almost entirely using the clip and grow method. I have wired some branches loosely just to get them going in the right direction but have never done a traditional wiring job on it. On that particular tree I tend to use the "arborist" approach to pruning just to remove long growth and branches that cross and look unsightly. Here is a picture of the grove from a few days ago after I did it's fall pruning and selected a container for it to go into next spring.
