Hey Gang,

I was just wondering if anyone other than me is working on American bittersweet (Celastrus scandens). It's a native vine of the Eastern US. I have been searching around for examples and in all that searching, I have not been able to find a single example of one, even in a pre-bonsai state. I was given one from a friend of mine that pulled out a female vine this past winter and it's proving to be quite the little trooper. I know that the Japanese form of bittersweet is used quite extensively and think that our American form would do just as well. The one that I'm working on is going to be bunjin. Here's a pic of where it is currently.
