Membership in the American
Bonsai Society, Inc. is open to anyone upon application and
payment of dues and shall continue from year to year so long
as dues are paid.
Memberships include an annual
subscription to BONSAI:
Journal of the American Bonsai Society and free membership
in the ABSForum our email
bonsai discussion group, discounts on purchases through the ABS Book Service and eligibility to participate in ABS Bonsai Events and Contests.
*** Special Notice ***
ABS is transitioning to a
single annual renew time for all members. All new and renewal
memberships in 2008 and beyond will then expire on December 31
of each year. During the 2008 transition period, you may sign
up for a "short" year ending 12/31/08 or for a "long"
year ending 12/31/09. The cost per issue of the Journal will
be the same either way. There will be less effort required for
you and for ABS if you renew for the "long" year which
will expire 12/31/09.
You will be notified of the
expiration of your membership by a large notice printed on the
Journal's mailing envelope. You can also get more specific information
about your expiration by decoding the address on your envelope.
For example, EX 3 - 2008 indicates that your membership expires
with Journal #3 of 2008. Those who do not renew within 30 days
of their expiration date will be reminded by e-mail that their
membership has expired. It will help greatly if you renew before
it is necessary to send you a reminder.
